Rheumatoid Arthritis Hacks:

My wife was a lucky one who experienced excruciating joint pain and stiffness with an eventual diagnosis of RA. Her doctor prescribed Methotrexate but the side-effects were too much. This was not living. Having had success overcoming Lyme, we took a 100% natural approach. No medication.

The results were astonishing. Noticeably less pain in a month that kept diminishing over time. Stiffness went away and range of motion returned.

This is not for the weak. You must really want to be pain free to let go of what could be your favorite food or drink. You're on a new plan now. Here is what she did:

  • First is to cut sugar and high fructose corn syrup out of the diet.
    • Adults cut alcohol drinks.
    • If this can't be done, expect the pain to remain.
    • Sodas and high sugar no fiber fruit juices such as orange, apple, grape are out too.
    • Raw honey, liquid stevia, maple syrup and dates can be consumed as a sweetener.
  • After two weeks we removed wheat, corn and dairy from her diet.
    • This unholy trinity can cause big time inflammation. If you have the money, thorough labs can be run to see if these are an issue. We would bet that they are.
    • With this change means that restaurants are out too.
    • In this case we refer to dairy as food made with pasteurized cow milk that includes milk, butter, cheese, ice cream, cream and yogurt. All of these bought at a store are out.
      • Sheep cheese might be tolerable. If you have a flare-up, avoid.
      • We were surprised to be able to tolerate raw A2/A2 cow's milk direct from a farm.
  • The pain started to get better in a couple of weeks with more gains by the 6 month mark. Full range of motion came back after a year.
  • Your results may vary, although everyone we have seen who made these changes experienced lower levels of pain.
  • Check with your doctor before making health changes.

This is life changing for us to be able to live again. Pain is gone as long as we stick to the food plan. One slip usually means a flare-up. It's nice to have control over what we thought was uncontrollable.

  • Make sure there is no cheating on the food plan. Especially sugar and alcohol. And check all the ingredients of everything eaten. Consuming foods your body reacts to will not help.
  • There could be other health issues going on that need to be addressed. Functional labs can help identify. Ignoring them won't make it better.

We have seen the pain you all go through and it breaks our hearts. While there is no cure, we believe there are things that can be done to take away the pain and feel better.
